Are feral cats safe to keep?

There are so many wild cats in this world that need a home. Many people are afraid of them, because they are obviously very suspicious and aggressive when threatened or corner can be driven. And who can blame them? Most of them have never had houses (which is one who had no human contact the definition of a wild cat,) and not treated very well by the people they come up with in touch have. I have many cats in the course of which had for years. I have currently 26 cats, which verwilderten most of them. I'm at the point now, where can I pet - most of them and they crave my attention and touch. I will not say that this has been easy. It takes a huge amount of patience, vlád cat trust you and you accept to receive. But it is one of the most rewarding things when they do. So, are indeed to keep feral cats safe. It takes only a few time and be careful at first.

The first question about the cat is sure it is diseases you fear most are the customer? The good news is that many diseases, the cats are not harmful for you. Some, like rabies, however, you must be careful. The obvious best solution to this question is, if you can catch the wild cat and take it to the vet for full security check. This can sometimes be easy, if you the cat into a Havahart kind of fall can go. It is long and narrow and you eat it at the very end. There is a metal plate that the cat steps to close the food and it shuts the door. It is very humane and, from there is always the cat out and sedating your veterinarian his own way they check them out.

There are many cats which will fall for this not. They are not stupid and somehow know this is a trap. If this is the case, you will need to be ready to win the cat, can get to go in a support or some other "trap". This is where patience, patience, patience comes in. You feed the cat every day at a given time (or twice a day) and go away. Do not attempt to, touch or have any interaction with them for a few weeks. Then you can try standing out at a distance while they eat and you see them out of the corner of the eye. Try it move a little closer and squat down close to them (but not too close). This process slowly move must and can take months. Finally you hope where it leaves you only a foot or two of them to the point to get. The most important is around them, to act naturally, not as you wait to overthrow and grab them! As you can see, it can have a long process, but if you have a love for animals like me, it is well worthwhile value.

Back to the safety aspect. Throughout this process, you must be careful. You want to not be bitten before you the chance that a veterinarian, have had you a good physical and some tests. When the cat in a normal way (do not count, the hissing and growling) and has no obvious signs of injury, which is a good start. Just watch how excessive drooling for anything unusual or lethargic behavior. Once you get to the point where they let you still were pet — she, carefully, until you can get them to the vet. As a whole I only a few my feral who were sick of and sleep will be had to put. So don't feel that a wild cat automatically ill or sick, but use common sense and be careful. When the day comes that they rub against your leg and want to curl up in your lap, you feel a tremendous sense of accomplishment. She took a helpless, homeless cat that never had a person for them to provide, and turned it into a friendly, loving cat.
